Around 1,000 residents of Lembah Pantai gratefully celebrated Aidiladha during the Majlis Korban Perdana organizes by Takaful Ikhlas Sdn. Bhd. (Takaful IKHLAS) today. The program is an initiative under Takaful IKHLAS' corporate social responsibility CSR) program, "IKHLAS Untuk Komuniti", to reach out to the needy.

The Minister Of Federal Territories And Urban Wellbeing, Yang Berhormat Senator Dato' Raja Nong Chik Datuk Raja Zainal Abidin officiated the ceremony and witnessed the hand-over of zakat contribution by Takaful IKHLAS to 50 asnaf (zakat recipients) from Lembah Pantai, and two welfare bodies namely Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Makmur (PKBM). Each welfare body receives a zakat contribution of MYR 5,000 (USD 1,591).

Takaful IKHLAS contributed 10 cattle for korban (sacrifices) and 10 goats for aqiqah (sacrifices after the birth of a child) to be distributed to residents around Kg. Kerinchi, Pantai Dalam. Besides the celebration at the Head Office level, the korban program was also conducted at Takaful IKHLAS regional offices throughout the country with at least one cattle allocated for each branch.

Speaking at the event, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful IKHLAS, Dato' Haji Syed Moheeb bin Syed Kamarulzaman says, this is the fourth year that Takaful IKHLAS is organizing korban contribution after it was conducted in Perlis, Terengganu and Kemboja.

He further says, "As a responsible corporate citizen, Takaful IKHLAS is always concern about the hardship and difficulties endured by the society members. We are aware that, each profit and success that we achieve today should be shared particularly with the poor and less fortunate. We are confident and believe that, the blessings gain from sincere giving will bring out goodness in the future".

The ceremony was made more joyful with the activity of cutting korban and aqiqah meat followed by cooking which was done together by the residents of Kg. Kerinchi and Takaful IKHLAS staff.
