The Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI)
The AAOIFI is an Islamic international autonomous non-profit making corporate body that prepares accounting, auditing, governance, ethics and Shari'a standards for Islamic financial institutions.
Formerly known as Pentasoft, AETINS (an acronym for Assured ETernal INsurance Solutions) have developed a comprehensive IT system for the insurance industry making it possible for organisations to launch new products in a matter of hours, so for products like hajj/umrah packages this products can now be launched in hours by companies. Pentasoft is currently working on integrating an islamic wealth management and hedge fund application that will be integrated with the comprehensive package.
Bahrain Monetary Agency
The Agency is the country’s central bank and regulator of the financial sector. In the discharge of these responsibilities it pursues a long-term objective of ensuring that the Kingdom of Bahrain not only retains its position as the Middle East’s pre-eminent financial centre, but continues to strengthen this position by its commitment to intellectual excellence in financial and economic matters. One of its current consultation papers is Building a new insurance regulatory framework—Consultation Paper 7 : Takaful and Retakaful Business.

The International Federation of Insurance Takaful Companies started in 1969 when the first Takaful company was established in accordance with juristic opinion (Fatwa) given by the avowed Sharia jurists. That company was the "Islamic Insurance Company" established in Khartoum - the Sudanese capital - by Faisal Islamic Bank. Several other Islamic insurance companies followed suit. To foster the idea of Takaful insurance more institutions and organizations are needed to solidify the movement. The most important body needed is a universal unified organization capable of unifying all the Takaful insurance groups in a federation to be entrusted with the job of developing the ideas through relentless efforts to settle all the problem facing the industry with keen efforts to share the skills and expertise and enhance the know-how skills of the personnel within the industry.
Global Takaful Group (GTG)
The Global Takaful Group (GTG) was legally incorporated on 21st May 2007. Prior to this, this group was an informal grouping of takaful and retakaful operators under the name of ASEAN Takaful Group (ATG). Today it has expanded its membership to thirty-five (35) comprising takaful and retakaful operators from various countries, and continues to receive enquiries from many players around the world.

Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB)
The IFSB serves as an international standard setting body of regulatory and supervisory agencies that have vested interest in ensuring the soundness and stability of the Islamic financial services industry, which is defined broadly to include banking, capital market and insurance. In advancing this mission, the IFSB will promote the development of a prudent and transparent Islamic financial services industry through introducing new, or adapting existing international standards consistent with Islamic Shari’a principles, and recommend them for adoption.
